These Bones Will Be Rocking

On Saturday, December 6, 2008, the ROM, in the Dinosaur exhibit, will host the 26th Mistletoe Ball in support of The Herbie Fund, a lifeline to seriously ill children who are in need and have nowhere else to turn.

This event remains The Herbie Fund’s largest fundraising affair. A mainstay of the “fundraising circuit” this glamorous event, designed and operated by volunteers and generous donations, will feature live music, a delectable dinner and a very exclusive silent auction.

“This event raises over $400,000 annually with all proceeds going to The Herbie Fund at The Hospital for Sick Children, according to Helene Korn, Gala Co-chair.” “Each year of the last 25 years our volunteer teams have worked as they did this year, beginning in March, to provide our patrons with a enchanting kick off to the holiday season, that provides children in need with life-saving and live-altering surgery”

The event details are:

When: Saturday December 6, 2008
Where: ROM Dinosaur Exhibit
Time: 6:00 Reception and Silent Auction
Dinner: 7:00 Dinner and Dancing

The Herbie Fund, started in 1979, by Paul and Gina Godfrey, has helped more than over 600 children from 88 countries. The number of children helped each year depends entirely on the funds raised by Operation Herbie. These funds are depleted in order to help as many children as possible receive the necessary life saving and life altering medical procedures not available to them.

“What makes this celebratory event a stand out for the holiday season is the generosity and leadership of our volunteers and sponsors; because of them, every dollar donated will help children internationally to survive and thrive”, stated Gina Godfrey founder of Operation Herbie.
The Hospital for Sick Children, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. Its mission is to provide the best in family-centred, compassionate care, to lead in scientific and clinical advancement, and to prepare the next generation of leaders in child health.
